RAST
The Nyos RS uses the latest generation of this bulkhead partition system with non-return valves guaranteeing a perfect distribution of tension.
A third level of tension is created above the pilot that besides the tensions on the leading edge and trailing provides a new ” feeling ” of stability.
It is the first bet of Swing that incorporates RAST in the high EN-B segment.
It will be difficult to overcome a more functional RAST design than achieved with the Nyos RS under the requirements of the EN-B certification. Asymmetrical and frontal collapses are limited by the RAST valve prior to the pilot’s intervention, this feature has allowed to squeeze all the potential even in rough flight conditions where the turbulence would reduce the performance.
Reinforced Nitinol leading edge
The leading edge demands the most stable shape possible if we want to obtain maximum performance and stability, particularly accelerated to the maximum speed.
The stiffening of the traditional plastic can reduce the tension on the leading edge, the Swing solution has been to use Nitinol rods, a metal with memory that provides a lot more tension to the entire leading edge.
Nitinol is a nickel-titanium alloy used in medical engineering for its dimensional stability, for example, with orthodontics, optics or fixing devices.
All the reinforcements on the leading edge of the NYOS RS are made of this high quality material, which will allow us to forget to fold cell by cell or leave it unzipped for long periods of time without flying, simply roll it up and compress it firmly, thus significantly reducing the exposure time to the UV sun light and abrasion each time you fold it.
New ultimate fabric
Shinier and diferent touch than conventional fabrics, the lightweight fabric used in the Nyos RS has been developed jointly with Swing to achieve the best results in dimensional stability, tear resistance and durability, opting for a combination of 32g in the extrados , 28 / 32g in the intrados and 33g in the ribs and nerves.
Optimized Profile
Many performance gliders fly much better at the top of the weight range, but it is not the case of the NYOS RS, where speed and performance are maintained throughout the weight range.
Light and consistent construction
Profile reinforcements and ribs have been lightened without compromising strategic loading points. The diagonal ribs are reinforced to maintain the maximum dimensional stability for a long time and under heavy load conditions.
Improved risers for accelerated speeds
It’s not useful if a glider can fly fast but your knees suffer in the attempt, NYOS RS bands have been designed to be operated with the minimum effort required to fly accelerated to the maximum for a long period of time and without suffering.
C steering
Originally C steering was connected with B level but it was not effective, the control was too hard and a lot of speed was lost stabilising, the most effective solution is the C-bridge that allows us to change the trim without profile deformation, which will allow us to pilot accelerated without losing any performance by maintaining the ideal shape of the profile all the time.
Conclusion
The Nyos RS open a next level in performance, confort and safety balance, it has achieved an easy and extremely comfortable paraglider that stands out for its performance and with an excellent behavior under turbulence of strong flying conditions, the ultimate machine for flying far away, fun is guaranteed!
